A merchant is a business that uses NihaoPay as their payment processor. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to sign up for a merchant account directly on their website. Instead, their website directs you to contact their sales team. However, you also have the option to start a NihaoPay merchant application through me, Brandi Hodge (Brandi@nihaopay.com), since I’m the Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist with NihaoPay. In this article, I shed some light on the NihaoPay application process.

Let’s break down the merchant application steps listed on NihaoPay’s website (right), and how that process differs a bit when going through me instead of the sales team.
1. Get Started
- Sales Team
- When you complete the form on NihaoPay’s website, the answers will be sent to the NihaoPay Sales Team. They process the forms during normal US office hours in the ordered received.

- I do not have access to the forms that are completed on NihaoPay’s website. InsteadI have a referral link listed here where you can start your NihaoPay merchant application immediately without waiting for their sales team to respond and get additional information before setting up your application account.
2. Set Up Account
- Sales Team
- If you have any questions when completing the onboarding application, you will need to send an email to NihaoPay. They process emails during normal US office hours. NihaoPay regularly works with all kinds of companies, so it may take a few emails for them to establish exactly which of their services you’re needing.

- I offer my applicants instant access to my exclusive, FREE video guide that I created to help answer the most common application questions and provide additional relevant information. This means no more waiting for anyone else to reply to your emailed questions!
- NihaoPay already knows that my referrals are independent online teachers. This way, they have a better understanding of the services we need. NihaoPay will also keep me cc’d on all of their email correspondence during the application process so that I may assist with any questions as needed. My referrals can also email me directly with any additional questions.
3. Fast Integration
- Sales/Tech Support/Service Teams
- Once approved, these teams will help set up website integration of NihaoPay’s payment processing system into a website.

- Once approved, I send my referrals a short video showing step-by-step how I use the EasyPay Order system (instead of website integration) to send payment requests to my own clients in China. Typically, this is the only additional information that is needed for independent teachers, and you can start sending payment requests immediately!
4. Accept Payments

- You can use the NihaoPay tools to manage and monitor your transactions. For additional questions, you can email the NihaoPay Teams.

Just to recap, here’s a summation of the NihaoPay merchant application process when using me as your referral,
- Start your application here.

- NihaoPay will review your application, and send any follow-up questions as needed. Once all of their questions have been answered, they will audit your application and send your new account login credentials. I will send a follow-up email with my EasyPay Order guide.
- You can start using NihaoPay to accept Chinese payments right away!
Time Frame
NihaoPay’s website states they take about 5 business days to process applications. My referrals’ applications are expedited. I typically see an initial turnaround time of 1-2 business days.
NihaoPay will have follow up questions because they know my referrals want access to their EasyPay Order system. This requires some basic follow-up questions that are not included in the main application. This time frame will depend on how quickly you’re able to answer their questions. Remember, I’m here to help if you aren’t sure about any of their questions! I can respond faster than the application team since I process fewer applications. I know time is of the essence for my applicants!
Then it typically takes 1-2 business days for NihaoPay’s audit team to review your application and create your merchant account.
The total average turnaround time for my applicants from the time they submit their application to when they can start sending payment requests typically only takes a few days.
