Hello! I’m Brandi Hodge, an independent online ESL teacher/tutor as well as the Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist for NihaoPay.

A bit about me: It’s been 4 years since I began working full time as online ESL teacher contracted with VIPKID. Since then, I created my own independent business as a private, online ESL teacher. I have been fully independent since October of 2021. At that time, I had never started any kind of business before, and I remember feeling overwhelmed and clueless about where to even begin that process!

During my journey of establishing my online teaching business, I learned about NihaoPay, which provides businesses with international payment processing services from China’s 3 major payment platforms: WeChat Pay, AliPay, and UnionPay. Immediately, I decided to use NihaoPay for my own business. Shortly thereafter, I became contracted with them to help other teachers through their application and onboarding process.

I created this site to provide other online teachers a resource for information about beginning an online teaching business. I share basic information about US business registrations, Chinese payment processing with NihaoPay, and share my own insights and experiences with online teaching. Hopefully, you find this site useful!

When I’m not teaching, helping others with NihaoPay, or working on this site, you can usually find me watching TV, journaling, or napping. (I know my fellow online teachers can relate to the importance of a good nap!) My absolute favorite hobby is traveling! In the future, I plan to become a digital nomad and live abroad. For now, I’m living in Oklahoma, USA with my 12-year-old son.
